Disqus confirms 2012 hacker attack: stolen 18 million
Disqus the popular comment hosting service was hacked . The company providing the famous blog and information site plugin has recently admitted that it has suffered a major data breach in 2012, during which hackers extracted and stolen data from more than 17.5 million users . Stolen data includes email addresses, user name used on Disqus, registration dates, and dates of the last log-in of all affiliated accounts. It’s not over because hackers put at least one third of the password of these 17.5 million accounts, encrypted with the weak SHA-1 .
