Tony Cole and Carolyn Crandall Become 2018 Distinguished Reboot Honorees for Their Influence and Leadership

Cole is a cybersecurity expert with more than 30 years of experience in government and industry in a variety of roles. He has successfully built global consulting teams assisting customers in all aspects of security defense and operations. As CTO, Cole works to drive a cohesive strategy across sales, marketing, and the technology platform to address and respond to today’s evolving cybersecurity landscape. He is first and foremost a public voice for the industry, educating the market on the cyber deception space and cybersecurity in general. In his current role as CTO, he has the unique opportunity to educate the market on new technologies that can be applied for effective in-network threat detection and to directly influence cybersecurity policy and recommendations. Additionally, Cole is on the Board of Directors of (ISC)2, Silent Circle, and was also appointed by the NASA Administrator to the NASA Advisory Council (NAC). Collectively, this influence will be instrumental in driving new thinking to addresses today’s evolving threats and rapidly changing attack surface.
Crandall has served as the chief deception officer and CMO of Attivo Networks since 2015 and holds over 30 years of experience in high-technology. She is a technical evangelist of deception technology for Attivo Networks and for the industry at large. Going above and beyond, she spends a significant amount of her time educating security professionals on the benefits of active defense measures, through event speaking, blogs, and creation of contributed articles. As Chief Deception Officer, Carolyn articulates the importance of – and inherent market needs for early and accurate in-network threat detection. Carolyn is an active advocate for deception as a foundation for active cyber defense.
